Parametric Rings
thingiverse
The Parametric Rings are simple loops printable in various colors, designed by adjusting settings in their OpenSCAD file. This allows users to set ring diameter, select optional supports like 'use_gap_support' or 'use_mouse_ears', which aid in printing large diameter rings that may warp or lift from the bed. The rings can be exported singly in suggested colors or as a full set in one color. A video demonstrating assembly is available at http://yuleblinker.com/parametric-rings/. Faberdashery's Rainbow Fun Pack offers suitable colors: Electric Blue, Mellow Yellow, Classic Black, Village Green, and Fire Truck Red. Rings can be printed with a 60mm diameter using each color from the pack. To create ring models, open Parametric_Rings.scad file, enter Ring_Radius value, consider support options if printing large rings, and uncomment desired model (e.g., Linked_Rings, All_Rings_Solid, All_Rings_Bed, Blue_Ring_Solo, etc.). Printing large rings may require support structures to prevent warping or lifting off the bed. After printing, trim supports with a craft knife and assemble rings following a video demonstration in the OpenSCAD file with Linked_Rings option uncommented.
