Parametric Ratchet Library
thingiverse
Version 0.2 of an OpenSCAD ratchet library offers parametric generation of inner and outer rings with teeth and arms that ratchet against each other. The latest version supports a "slant" parameter to slant the ratchet teeth and arm faces, promoting interlock between parts. Utilize the library to create rings according to design needs, integrating them with other OpenSCAD elements. Two methods drive usage: 'inner_ratchet_ring' for inner rings with teeth and 'outer_ratchet_ring' for outer rings with spring arms. Each method features configurable parameters, many of which should match across calls to ensure correct interaction. The 'outer_ratchet_ring' method requires specifying ratchet direction, inner ring diameter, height, thickness, outer ring diameter, height, thickness, number of arms, arm type (currently only "straight" supported), arm head width, length, shaft width, height, and tolerance; slant angle for arm faces (0 to ~50); and facets number. The 'inner_ratchet_ring' method requires similar parameters, including teeth multiplier against the number of arms, and slant angle for ratchet teeth. Both methods use 'facets' to determine the ring's surface detailing.
