Parametric Printable Combination Lock
thingiverse
A parametric combination lock's SCAD file is provided for customization of the combination and number of digits. Inspired by Thingiverse's design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047), this model was created from scratch to ensure ease of printing. To assemble, print all pieces except exploded_view.stl, three disc holders less than the combination number, and fasten with M4x50 bolt, two M4 nuts, and an M3-15 screw. Due to tight tolerances, clean up may be needed for smooth movement; drill the hole in the last disc as well. Assemble by inserting the bolt through the knob, door, and disc holders, with pegs fitting into slots on previous holders. Secure with nuts, ensuring easy spinning of the knob while keeping the disc pack intact. To change the combination, alter it within the SCAD file, export individual STL files for each part (starting with part_number=1), and repeat until complete. The Write SCAD module is required (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16193).
