Parametric Picture Frame
thingiverse
Today I realized, that the picture frame for most photos on my wall fits completely on the printbed of my Prusa MK3s So here is a frame, that is composed of two parts, a small inner frame, and a larger outer frame. It is designed as a slim frame that directly goes around a photo print, without a passepartout. For easy printing without supports, the assembly is from the front, Place your photo in the 1mm grove of the outer frame, then push the inner frame in. It should hold in place by friction. The inside dimensions as uploaded here are 170 x 120 mm. If you have some basic FreeCAD skills, you can edit these dimensions in the sketch "inner_size" - find this sketch in the "outer" body. To go creative, you can adapt the design of the frame in the sketch "profile" - note, that this sketch also has the design for both, inner and outer frame. The lines for the inner frame are blue construction lines. You'll find another sketch in the "inner" body, that inherits everything from this "profile" sketch, just with inverted construction lines, so that everything that belongs to the outer frame is a construction line here. There is a photo, that shows one corner of the frame. That is from the file picture-frame-Common.stl which was only created to demonstrate the profile. Enjoy!
