Parametric Phone Case Design for All Brands
thingiverse
I decided to try out Fusion 360's parametric design feature on a phone case, one that would fit all brands of mobile phones. This case has a button opening on both sides and a camera opening on the front. You can enter parameters such as width, height, position, and button and camera widths to get started. The software will then generate a custom phone case for you. I attached an STL file of a Samsung S6 case made with this parametric design. I've tested the .f3D file on different phone models and it seems to work well so far. Here are the steps: Step 1: Click the link below to access or download the design file from here, but you'll need Fusion 360 software (and some knowledge about it) to work with the file. http://a360.co/2iGjN72 Step 2: Open the file, select Modify and Change Parameters, then enter values based on your phone's size. The listed values are for a Samsung S6 case in millimeters. Width = 67 (base plate width) Height = 140 (base plate height) RoundCornerRadius = 4 (round corner radius) ArcWidth = 2 (side bulge/curve) ArcHeight = 7 (side bulge height) LeftButton1Position(camera facing up) = 45 (measuring from the top of the base plate) LeftButton1Width = 15 (button opening width) RightButton1Position = 15 (measuring from the top of the base plate) RightButton1Width = 30 (button opening width) CameraPositionX = 25 (measuring from the left of the base plate) CameraPositionY = 15 (measuring from the top of the base plate) Camera Width = 28 (camera opening width) Camera Height = 15 (camera opening height) Notes: A) Be careful with button openings and overall phone case size, as entering wrong numbers may cause errors. Make a draft on paper before changing values. B) Note that Width and Height are not actual phone sizes but base plate dimensions. Use the following equation to determine them: Width + ArcWidth x 2 = phone width + clearance C) The default thickness is fixed at 2mm and cannot be changed, while button opening height is fixed by default and equals ArcHeight. Step 3: Try different values before printing the case and enjoy!
With this file you will be able to print Parametric Phone Case Design for All Brands with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Parametric Phone Case Design for All Brands.
