Parametric Perforated Box Tube Holder
thingiverse
This is a custom holder I designed specifically to connect a Hitachi Magic Wand to a Perforated Box Tube. I developed it using OpenSCAD, which allows for parametric design adjustments. Initially, my design was based on incorrect assumptions regarding the size of perforated box tube available to me. The resulting STL file caters to a 1 1/2 inch box tube, holds a Hitachi Magic Wand in place and keeps a 4 inches distance from it. This is an advantage since users can adjust the OpenSCAD file to fit their preferred tube diameter and printing position according to their requirements and printer specifications. Notably, despite my low expectations, the printed version turned out remarkably robust, satisfying all of my functional needs without issue. Instructions The 3D-printed holder was created from PLA using a FlashForge Creator printer with default MakerWare settings in reduced quality mode, ensuring it meets all print standards while being mindful of storage capacity. To mitigate potential print distortion and achieve maximum structural integrity, the enclosure is covered in cardboard to confine heat flow during the printing process. It has become apparent that 10% infill proves sufficient for making the arm incredibly durable; thus, minimizing the overall print time while upholding its operational integrity.
