Parametric PCB Tray
thingiverse
A small PCB tray for use on a desk or table, including built-in feet! The STL is sized for a 2x2 inch board with through-hole components. # Modifying the design To modify the X-Y size of PCB, load the .FCStd file in FreeCAD in Part Design mode and change the base "Sketch". Add a small amount of slop to the nominal size of the PCB, such as 1mm. To change the height is a bit more complicated, you need to modify the formula for the "Length" of "Pad"; the first value (3.2 mm) is the available clearance. 3.2mm was good for me with a 1.6mm thick PCB that had through-hole components. Once you're done, export the "Body". # Removing the feet If the feet aren't useful for you, just delete the last two steps, "cone" and "multitransform", or export "Pad002" instead of the whole "Body". # Printing the design Unless using dissolvable support (which I didn't test), the printing orientation needs to be vertical with the tab at the top. Mine are printed in PLA; the tab needs to be able to flex when installing the board, so more brittle plastics are not a good choice, especially if it is printed vertically because the bending action is in the weakest direction.
