Parametric PCB Rackmount system
thingiverse
This OpenSCAD script generates a single part rack for mounting multiple double-stacked 25x25mm Radio->USB "base station" PCB units in a commercial ABS enclosure. The racks ensure easy sliding of the units into the enclosure, secured by friction and locked with micro-USB plugs at the side. Acetone-welding provides a professional look while keeping costs low. It's ideal for a modular system to secure multiple stacked PCBs in a large enclosure, allowing for easy removal. To use this script, download rounded_cuboid_2_2.scad and mouse_ears_test.scad files to the same directory. Measure your PCBs and adjust parametric variables like padding, unit_separation, max_units, unit_height, wall_t, base_b, and base_h accordingly. Generate .STL files and print them. Remove mouse ears (if desired), sand/file edges of rails for perfect friction hold, then superglue or acetone-weld the racks inside commercial project boxes. Slide PCBs into the rails and secure with micro-USB plugs at the side. Finally, seal the box for a professional look!
