Parametric OEM Profile Keycaps

Parametric OEM Profile Keycaps

OEM Style Keycaps with f3d files for easy customization. Measurements taken with calipers to be as accurate as possible, but adjusted to be easy for 3d printing with no supports necessary. Printed in PETG with stock Cura profile for “super quality” with temp adjusted down to 235, and retraction up to 6mm. Otherwise no changes. The stems fit super well with no post processing needed: it was a struggle to find Keycaps that just worked so I designed these. The f3d files in the “parametric” folder are extremely well labeled for each sketch, extrusion, and what have you. These is a blank sketch called “Face Text Plane” that you can add images/text to and extrude downward into the keys to cut out a key label. Within the parameters you will find length, width, and extrude height. The “lowerHeight” parameter is for the angle of the top face of the keycaps, and “diameter” is for the rounded profile of the top of the keycaps. I did not add parameters for the front and side profile angles, as these are just well set up for the given use. To make bigger keys, ie a 2.25U enter key for example, change the width to 41.5 and diameter to somewhere around 400. Then you can go into the “stem” sketch, copy the ring and cross from the sketch, move it over in both directions from the center by 12mm, and extrude to a length of 5mm to add stabilizers for those keys.
