Parametric No-Touchy Ring
thingiverse
Here's my little contribution to staying healthy in these crazy times - a simple ring so you can press buttons on ATMs, elevators, stores, and more while reducing the chance of picking up and spreading germs. Keep in mind to clean and disinfect according to CDC guidelines, and keep small items away from young children. I liked YasiekPL's creation of an anty Corona Press Ring but got concerned about exposed surfaces and sizing issues. Getting a good size might take some trial and error. If the contact surface is covered, it should be safer. Still, regular cleaning and disinfecting will be crucial. I coded a solution with a snap-on cap covering the button-pressing part. It's also configurable to cover standard US ring sizes from 0 through 16. I've uploaded different sizes from 3 to 13 1/2 in half-size increments (though the .scad file includes quarter and three-quarter sizes too). Just grab the cap, tilt it to one side while pulling, and press buttons on elevators, store POS systems, etc. Then replace the cap without touching the contact surface. Regular cleaning is a must.
