Parametric Mini Fishtank Filter System

Parametric Mini Fishtank Filter System

thingiverse

I had a tiny aquarium and it was tough to find a water filter that fit its size, so I salvaged a mini water pump from an abandoned project and decided to make my own filter. This concept pairs well with a mini submersible water pump, which can be found on Aliexpress or other marketplaces for around $1. Since this design is parametric, you can modify any parameter using OpenSCAD. The available parameters include: Innerd : the inner diameter of the pipe, which should match the outer diameter of your pump's pipe Outerd : the outer diameter of the pipe, just add a couple millimeters to your inerd for this; it also defines the thickness of your printout Pipelength : the length of the pipe from the pump to the filter bay, set this close to the depth of your tank and make sure your pump is powerful enough to push water to the top Length : the length of the pipe inside the filter bay, which also affects the height of your filter bay Feel free to use this design as you see fit and modify it to suit your needs; I'd love to hear if you enjoy it.
