Parametric micro-focuser for astro- or macro-photography
thingiverse
The concept of this micro-focuser originated from this design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1751383. I wanted one that could accommodate different lenses. This tool simplifies focusing for astro-photography and macro-photography. Additionally, during long astrophoto exposures with the lens pointed upwards, some lenses tend to shift focus due to their own weight. This micro-focuser helps maintain a stable focus. The rings are secured in place using M3 screws and nuts. Adding knobs to the screws makes attaching the rings slightly easier; however, you will need to glue them. Alternatively, consider purchasing thumbscrews for better results. The OpenSCAD file allows users to customize it to fit any lens. The model provided in STL files is specifically designed for a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 lens.
