Parametric Massage Wand
thingiverse
Parametric Massager This is a set of OpenSCAD scripts for generating a vibrating massage wand. It is designed to be as modular and hackable as possible. You will need to modify the files to fit your motor, electronics, and tube. Vitamins * A short piece of rubber hose, I used a piece of garden hose in my initial tests. * A small electric motor (I used an RS260) * Electronics for controlling the motor * Appropriately sized hose clamps or zip ties * 4x M3 cap screws and hex nuts (The length of these will depend on the size of the tip) This massage wand is designed to be modified to accept any electronics you wish to put in it, so the provided enclosure is very basic. You will need to modify the enclosure to fit your particular electronics. I may update this project in the future to include some electronics and an appropriate enclosure. Massager Tip (tip.scad) Follow the comments in the file explaining what the variables do. You will probably want to choose a motor diameter slightly larger than your motor, it is easy to make the motor a little larger by wrapping it in some electrical tape afterwards to get a snug fit. There are two halves to the massager tip, set top to true for the top half, or top to false for the bottom half. The top half is designed to retain the nuts. This will need to be printed with support enabled and the open side facing down. Vibration Mass (vibe_mass.scad) This is a simple off-center mass that is attached to the motor in order to make it vibrate. The overall width from the center of the shaft to the outside of the mass is equal to d2/2 + spacing. I would recommend leaving a couple of millimeters on all sides for clearance. Enclosure / Handle (handle_v1.scad) You will likely need to modify this to fit any electronics you plan on putting into it. It is parametric, so you simply need to adjust the inside dimensions and generate the part. You may also wish to add standoffs for a PCB, holes for buttons or other features before printing. Head Cover (head_cover.scad) This is an optional cover for the massager that helps prevent fluid ingress. It is designed to be printed in a flexible filament such as TPU and slipped over the tip of the massage wand. Follow the instructions in the file for usage. Tube (tube.scad) If you don't have a piece of tube handy, you can print this tube in a flexible filament. This is entirely optional and can be replaced by a short piece of tube from your local hardware store.
