Parametric Makerbot M
thingiverse
In my recent OpenSCAD project (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11025), I decided to add a stylish Makerbot M logo. To do so, I searched Thingiverse for native OpenSCAD code but couldn't find any suitable options. Instead, I had to import an STL file, extrude a DXF, or install a font. As a result, I created a custom MakerbotM module that you can use. Rather than just incorporating it into the Bottle Opener's .scad file, I've shared it separately for others to enjoy. I later updated the module by incorporating tbuser's changes (with more faces on the cylinder) and extending the middle leg of the M. This fixed some occasional weirdness during differences. The module accepts two parameters: height, which determines the logo's height, and thickness, which sets its dimensions. The part's origin is at the center for easy positioning.
With this file you will be able to print Parametric Makerbot M with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Parametric Makerbot M.
