JoeyC's ingenious design, a magnetic handle for 1/4" driver bits, has inspired me to create a customized version. While JoeyC focused on metric driver bits, I repurposed mine for drill bits in my printing projects. The comfortable handle with compound curves and attention to ergonomics makes it a joy to use. The strong 8mm magnet ensures secure bit storage and easy switching. To create your own, follow these steps: print the design, glue an 8mm magnet into the handle (avoid rare earth magnets), and start screwing or unscrewing! For personalized adjustments, alter variables in the OpenSCAD file, such as handle diameter, length, finger grips, and magnet size. Note that bit size may require trial and error due to the six-sided circle design for the hex hole. Don't miss out on this versatile, customizable tool!
