Parametric Linear Bearing with Optional Split

Parametric Linear Bearing with Optional Split

Tonight, my X-Axis bearings were damaged and left grooves on my rods. To fix this issue, I replaced the steel on steel bearings with these new ones in my printer, resulting in improved performance. Initially, I printed them at half height, thinking it would decrease friction; however, longer bearings may actually reduce friction by distributing load over a larger area. Give it a try and share your thoughts. To install the new bearings, I first tried printing solid (no split) which required disassembling my X-Axis. However, I later realized that splitting them would be easier. I simply pushed out the old bearings and slipped in the new ones. These bearings are cheaper and easier to replace than the originals but remember to lubricate between the bearing and linear rods for smooth operation.
