Parametric Gimbal, prints already assembled

cults3d

This versatile printable gimbal is already assembled on Replicator 2 printers, and can also feature a ball bearing ball weight that clicks into place, creating an effective gravitovectometer - similar to an accelerometer but providing only a vector reading, not a rate. Yes, we did coin that term. It's just a fun addition to have around and play with. Hold up a gimbal and blow on it, and the middle two parts will spin rapidly out of control, while the central part stabilizes quickly at a 90-degree angle to its parent, behaving like a gyroscope. This device could potentially be a valuable tool for explaining gimbal lock to those learning 3D graphics. Developed in collaboration with Nornagon
