Parametric Gear Pulley Hole Resizing (Mendel Drive Pulley)
thingiverse
The provided OpenSCAD script allows you to modify an existing STL file by filling and re-cutting the motor shaft hole. It's specifically used to create a "D" shaped hole for a Lin Engineering 4218L-01-11 motor in a Mendel drive pulley. The script is designed in such a way that you just need to specify the STL file, the center of the hole, and the size of the new hole, making it versatile enough to customize any gear/pulley for any motor. It also has a test mode that generates a cube with the new hole for faster printing and testing the fit on your motor. Attached files include the modified drive pulley (drive-pulley3off-_NCL_hole_Mod.stl), the OpenSCAD script (ModDrivePulley.scad), the test block (PulleyHoleModTest.stl), and the original reprap STL file (drive-pulley_3off.stl). To proceed, adjust settings for your motor shaft, select a block size (10 is recommended) in test mode, print the test block, check the fit, and if satisfactory, move to step 5, else revisit step 1. After confirming the fit, adjust settings for your STL file and print the customized part.
