Parametric Gauntlet

thingiverse

Create a customized stl file using OpenSCAD's parametric gauntlet script for Mecha-printed hands. Adjust various parameters such as wrist and arm width and thickness, gauntlet length, wall thickness of shell, spacing inside shell, dimensions of Velcro strap slots, base rail size, screw hole sizes, extension of straight rails, inclusion of bracing rings, cutout sizes, integrated string tuner specifications, and string guide details. This work-in-progress script allows for customization to fit individual hand measurements. Update includes options for one or two Velcro slots with adjustable positions, and rail support for improved printing results. To use the script, save the edited parameters in Include-HandParameters.scad file after inserting .scad files into a working directory. Customize the gauntlet's parameters in David-Gauntlet.scad file, compile and render in OpenSCAD, export as STL, and optimize using Netfabb before printing with support. Any issues or desired additional parameters should be reported to the author for consideration.
