<p>I realized I had a need for stacking games in a way that I can still easily take out any game I want at a given moment. And none of the existing options were a perfect fit, as I had many different case sizes.</p><p>This parametric model generates a stackable holder, a pull-out tab and a roof piece, that can be used to solve this problem; size can be customized to fit perfectly for any game case I want. The pull-out tab makes it easy to take out games.</p><p>This is unashamedly inspired by this model: <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3695237">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3695237</a> . I took the concept, adapted it into an OpenSCAD parametric model, and added a few (in my opinion) improvements.</p><h3>Printing instructions</h3><p>There are two variants of SCAD files; v2 is the newer variant with more tests done on it, and slightly adjusted parameters. <strong>Parts between v2 and original are likely not compatible - use only one of them at the time.</strong></p><p>Pre-made examples have a SNES cartridge and a thin 3DS case modeled in it. There are other suggested sizes as well in the OpenSCAD file - <strong>however, not all of them have been print-tested yet - in v2, DS and 3DS models have been tested (with 3DS being slightly wider but also less tall).</strong></p><p><strong>You will need Belfry OpenSCAD library for the SCAD file to compile and work appropriately.</strong></p><p>SNES example has been printed with 3DJake PETG, at 0.3mm layer height. Tolerances can be a bit finicky with this print - particularly the pull-out tab is very sensitive even to minor changes. You may have to move it back and forth a bit for it to loosen up in its grooves. The cylindrical mounts can also be adjusted to be tighter - originally, I designed them to be relatively loose (perhaps a bit too much even). </p><p>3DS example has been printed with a slightly more exotic filament, Fiberlogy PCTG. Prints very well, and is seemingly less prone to tolerance issues than the 3DJake PETG.</p><p>As of the roof piece, a bit of laziness struck - for it to stay tightly, one either needs to redesign it to have tight holes, or add a bit of glue on top, so the piece would stay in place</p>
