Parametric Fret Tang Filing Jig for Guitars
grabcad
This is a simple little design I made to help file off the ends of fret tangs for fretboards. Simply loosen the bolts, slide your fret through to your desired length, tighten the bolts, and file away until flush with the crown. This design uses (2) 1/4-20 x .75" Socket Head Cap Screws and (2) 1/4-20 hex nuts. All key features are fully parametric in Fusion 360, including:Base Width, Base Length, Base Thickness, Clamp Depth, Clamp Thickness, Crown Height, Crown Width, Tang Height, and Tang Width. To change any other dimensions, locations or features, such as bolt size, fillets or chamfers - open the appropriate sketch or feature and change the values.Seen on my YouTube video:"Installing the Frets | Project Mehr | Guitar Build Log Part 4"
