Parametric frame for Baader's AstroSolar film

thingiverse

This is a frame designed for use with Astrosolar film by Baader, perfect for observing the Sun through a telescope. It's fully customizable to fit your telescope using the provided OpenSCAD file. The STL files contain parts tailored specifically for a 50mm aperture, 57.5mm outer-diameter finder scope. Solar observation involves inherent risks if the filter is not correctly assembled or fitted. Please note that I take no responsibility for any issues arising from the use of this frame. It works for me and meets my needs; however, you must assume full responsibility for printing and using it. To minimize risks: 1. Read Baader's instructions carefully. 2. Ensure the film is properly attached with glue or tape. 3. Verify that the filter is securely fastened to the scope without any looseness. 4. Exercise common sense when handling the frame, especially around children, teenagers, and individuals under 30 years old. Accidents can occur despite precautions. 5. Inspect the entire structure before each use, checking for gaps, holes, or weakened glue/tape. 6. Double-check these conditions again to guarantee a safe observation experience. The OpenSCAD file includes four objects: the main tube, front ring, and two caps. The Astrosolar film should be placed between the large end of the tube and the ring. You can select which object to print within the scad file according to your needs.
