Parametric Fractal Trees
thingiverse
This is an enhanced version of Torsten Paul's original OpenSCAD example, modified to overcome issues with gaping objects that occurred when using higher angles during extrusion. To address these problems, I incorporated several parameters and made other adjustments to create 3D printable fractal trees required for a student research project. The base of the tree is also parametric and can be generated with the same parameters used for the trees. Other options available include: - Minimum and maximum angles for branch generation - Randomizing tree generation or producing repeatable results each time it's built - When the height is set to 0, the tree will be colored instead of being extruded File description includes: - fractal_tree_module_recursion.scad – a module for generating custom fractal trees - tree base.scad – a module for creating custom bases for fractal trees
