Parametric floor drain filter

This is a floor drain filter I designed with ease of cleaning in mind and to prevent clogs in pipes. The attached STL models have a diameter of 150mm and effectively remove residues larger than 2mm, while also serving as a reliable hair catcher. You can customize the filter using the attached SCAD file. Two grill patterns are available: honeycomb and square. Additionally, you can generate a full-filled model and a modifier template to use with PrusaSlicer software. Please visit the Prusa website for instructions on how to use PrusaSlicer software. https://www.prusa3d.com/prusaslicer/ For more information, please check Prusa's blog post on this topic. https://blog.prusaprinters.org/model-with-prusaslicer-modifier-meshes-tutorial_30438/ Creating a parametric filter is a great idea. It allows for better control over pattern generation. However, slicer programs may not produce excellent results when drawing tiny repeating patterns. Slicers use advanced algorithms to generate infill patterns and choose the best toolpath for our printers. Below is an illustration showing side-by-side comparisons of the designed pattern (left) and an infill pattern generated by the slicer software (right). https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/1f/27/82/24/4a/large_display_floor_drain_filter_prusaslicer.gif The infill toolpath is continuous while the toolpath for the predesigned pattern is discontinuous, resulting in more retractions, longer travel distance and consequently longer print time. One method should be chosen based on our objectives.
