When I built my Ultimaker, I deliberately left off some of the end plates because I felt that they were hindering airflow. However, since I no longer have those end plates, the ashes are now escaping through the openings instead. Additionally, I needed a bit more experience with OpenScad to tackle this project, so I decided to combine these two factors. As you can see, there's a small dot in the "Closure" section - this is intended to reduce resistance by allowing air to flow more freely. In reality, it was just a combination of necessity and a desire for improvement. You can also modify the script to change the Closure and front plate so that they fit together better. Have fun with your Ultimaker! This design has been removed from Thingiverse (see: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12709)
