TLDR; I just want to print these coasters, which files are for me? _Coaster.stl files _Coaster_logo.stl files This multicolor print is designed to be printed on single color printers that support the M600 g-code command. Most printers using Marlin firmware can do this if they have it enabled and are a Prusa i3 MK3S. I've added all STLs I generated myself and source material I used, except for the coaster with the Aperture Science innovators logo. The model for the logo was downloaded from Grabcad, and their own licensing terms apply. I've decided not to redistribute that one because my legalese is non-existent. You can get the STL yourself and follow steps to generate one. Link: https://grabcad.com/library/aperture-science-innovators-logo How to use the OpenSCAD files: Converting an SVG logo to STL for use with the coaster: - Make sure you're using OpenSCAD version 2019_05 or later - Put the SVG you want to use in the same folder as Svg_To_Stl_conversion.scad - Open Svg_To_Stl_conversion.scad - Change the filename to match the one you want to use - Press preview and verify the logo looks good (Note: While most SVG files I tried worked, a few generated a square. I have no idea what causes it or how to fix it) - Press render and check again - Press export to STL - Open the STL in PrusaSlicer (To have an easier time to center the object) - Set the position to X = 0 and Y = 0 in the bottom right corner - Export plate as STL - Done. The export from PrusaSlicer is the one you want to use with the coaster. How to generate a coaster: - Make sure that the logo STL is in the same folder as the file Parametric_Coaster.scad - Open Parametric_Coaster.scad - Adjust the parameters if you want - Change Logo_stl_path to the filename of the STL you want to use as the logo - Set Generate_part to 0 and preview, render and export the STL for the coaster - Set Generate_part to 1 and preview, render and export the STL for the logo How to print with multiple colors on a single color printer: Instructions on how to generate gcode with required manual filament swap were made by joantabb over on the PrusaPrinters forum: https://forum.prusaprinters.org/forum/prusaslicer/manual-multicolor/#post-188236 The short version: - Add an extruder to the printer settings - For custom gcode on tool change, set M600 - In the print settings -> multiple extruders disable the wipe tower - Select both the logo and the coaster STL files and drag them into the PrusaSlicer window - Answer yes so that they're recognized as a multi-color model - Slice your file as per normal At the start of the print it will already generate a tool swap, so just remove and re-insert the filament. When it reaches the logo, it will pause and ask you to swap filament. When the logo is done it will ask you again and finish up the rest of the print. I've also added 3MF files which you can open in PrusaSlicer. These include the models I used with the print settings I used. If you have a multi-material printer you can ignore all that and just print it like any multi-material print.
