Parametric Drill Press Bit

Parametric Drill Press Bit

thingiverse

A friend is attempting "engine-turning" or "jeweling," also known as damascening, with a drill bit, and needs an ABS plastic print for this purpose. The process involves attaching a Scotch-brite pad to the drill bit and using it to buff metal parts. This project served as an opportunity for me to enhance my OpenSCAD skills. The model is centered on all axes; adjust your software accordingly before g-coding. The .stl file has dimensions of 1/2" chuck width and 3/4" bit head, which can be modified in the OpenSCAD file if needed. After printing, attach an abrasive pad and use it for metal polishing. My friend will share photos of the results.
