Parametric Drag chain/ Cable carrier (F360)
grabcad
Fully machinable on a CNC router.Using end-mills with a width ( EndmillDiameter ) that is about half of the chosen material thickness is recommended, otherwise, there could be features that won't be mill-able.The pins could be made out of toothpicks just fine. Requires gluing; Superglue, epoxy or wood glue should work. Each link has as 45 degrees of axial freedom and requires 6 parts (4 complex + 2 very simple ones). No screws are required. Top part Should be free to slide left and right for adding or removing cables. This Model will automatically calculate the number of links necessary to span a distance, with two possible configurations: One will have enough links to cover the whole of the cables' runs, although it uses about twice as many links. ( ToggleUseMaxorMinLenght = 1) The other uses just enough links to carry the cables smoothly. Looks worse but uses about half as many links. ( ToggleUseMaxorMinLenght = 0 )Once you set your desired travel, go to the manufacture workspace and follow as in the last pic###For laser cutting set EndmillDiameter to you laser cutter kerf or = 0.01 (not 0)
