Parametric D Cell Battery Holder
thingiverse
A versatile D cell battery holder designed for various projects. This design is necessary due to the lack of high-quality, printable options available. It uses affordable contacts from Digikey that maintain a reliable electrical connection. Designed specifically to work with these Keystone Electronics contacts: * CONTACT BATTERY D NEGATIVE COIL (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/keystone-electronics/5251/36-5251-ND/2745884) * CONTACT BATT D POSITIVE BUTTON (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/keystone-electronics/5250/36-5250-ND/2745883) * CONTACT BATTERY D DUAL (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/keystone-electronics/5252/36-5252-ND/2745885) * DUAL D CELL BATTERY CONTACT (L) (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/keystone-electronics/5253/36-5253-ND/4499310) You will likely need all four contacts depending on the size of battery holder you create. Two #4 1/2 inch pan head screws or any other screw that fits a 3 mm hole can be used to secure the cover. Basic boxes for various battery packs are available in STL format. You can easily create larger battery packs if needed. Here are the nominal voltages produced by each battery pack: NiMH or NiCd Nominal Voltages: * 1x1 = 1.2 volts * 1x2 = 2.4 volts * 1x3 = 3.6 volts * 1x4 = 4.8 volts * 1x5 = 6 volts * 1x6 = 7.2 volts * 2x1 = 2.4 volts * 2x2 = 4.8 volts * 2x3 = 7.2 volts * 2x4 = 9.6 volts * 2x5 = 12 volts * 2x6 = 14.4 volts Alkaline or Zinc-carbon Nominal Voltages: * 1x1 = 1.5 volts * 1x2 = 3 volts * 1x3 = 4.5 volts * 1x4 = 6 volts * 1x5 = 7.5 volts * 1x6 = 9 volts * 2x1 = 3 volts * 2x2 = 6 volts * 2x3 = 9 volts * 2x4 = 12 volts * 2x5 = 15 volts * 2x6 = 18 volts Last updated on June 6, 2018, to include a cover and improved mounting points.
