Parametric customizable knob for rotary controls
thingiverse
This is a rotary control such as those used for volume adjustments. The shape of the dial can be customized by modifying its outer and inner diameters, height, and taper towards the top. It's also possible to add an arrow indicator on the top surface, and the shape can be made faceted rather than round in design. A beveled edge around the top is also adjustable within the code.\r\n\r\nThe dial typically utilizes a set screw from the side. The screw is secured by a nut resting on a washer, ensuring sufficient strength for tightening purposes. Either a headless setscrew can be used or an optional recess for a flat-head screw can be enabled. It's also possible to disable the screw and nut holes, allowing for a press fit on the shaft instead. The inner components can be recessed into the dial to enclose the mounting nut of the shaft within the panel.\r\n\r\nThe dial is designed to be printed upside down and does not require any support material on printers capable of printing a 45-degree overhang, thanks to teardrop-shaped holes that provide stability.
