Three solutions for a circular fanduct on a standard CR10 hotend featuring three types of radial fans with increasing airflow. Several parameters can be changed, in particular the duct and the gap size. Design 1 uses the standard 4010 fan and replaces the standard duct. It simply screws in place. Design 2 for a 4020 fan. This duct has to be glued to the fan. The combined unit screws with 3 screws (m2x12) to the hotend housing. Design 3 uses a 5015 size fan. This duct too has to be glued to the fan, but first the fan has to be slightly modified. The fan will be mounted using the lower two M2 screws. One in the existing hole. For the other a 2mm hole should be drilled 35mm away in the fan back shell, with a corresponding 4mm hole in the front shell (to be able to use a screw driver). The 4x9mm bushing should be glued in the lower 4mm mounting hole, flush with the backside. Then the fan should be mounted to the hotend housing (m2x12 and m2x6) and a line scribed along the bottom. after removing the fan it should be trimmed square along the scribed line, so that when the fan is mounted it only slightly protrudes underneath the hotend housing and is level with its bottom. Now the duct can be glued in place. It should be level with the bottom hotend casing leaving a slight gap.(just or not quite touching). The screwdriver hole should be covered with some tape during operation. Hint: only glue the backshell of the fans, so the front can be unclipped for maintenance. The included .stl is just an example.
