A hexagonal chess set, designed in OpenSCAD, is available on Github for forking at https://github.com/ryanthejuggler/para-chess. It was updated on March 27, 2013 to include an improved knight piece and a "set-plated" file that allows users to print the entire set simultaneously. The set-plated.stl has a compact 4x4 inch footprint, fitting perfectly on an 8x8 bed printer. For optimal printing, adjust travel speed to around 60 and use support material to prevent knight deformation. Alternatively, modify pieces using OpenSCAD or alter the knight's head tilt in knight.scad for print-without-support outcomes. Config.scad controls overall size and individual pieces offer additional settings for customization.
