Parametric Butter Cookie

Parametric Butter Cookie

thingiverse

This is a fully parametric butter cookie based on the original Lefèvre-Utile biscuit design. Biscuits of this type, typically with 10 by 14 teeth, are widely enjoyed in France as Petit Beurre and in Germany as Leibniz-Butterkeks. You can customize the size and number of teeth, the thickness of the cookie, as well as its overall shape: how rounded the edges are (zero for a sharp-edged cookie) and how prominent the teeth are. Additionally, you can add text to the biscuit. For a text-less biscuit, either leave the strings empty or set the depth to zero. You can also customize the render quality, which affects the size and number of polygons that make up the rounded edges. Smaller polygons result in higher-quality cookies but larger files due to more polygons. The cookie's dimensions depend on its teeth; for example, a 10 by 10 tooth biscuit with 5mm diameter teeth will be 50mm square.
