Parametric Bowden Tube & Brake Hose Cutting Guide

Parametric Bowden Tube & Brake Hose Cutting Guide

prusaprinters

This is a parametric tubing cutter for bike hydraulic disc brake lines or bowden PTFE tubing. It holds the tubing's shape as you cut for a clean, square edge—just use a very sharp razor blade or x-acto knife.Includes STEP and F3D files so you can go in and change user parameters. I also included STL files for 5mm brake lines and 4mm PTFE tubing. If you need a different size hole, blade gap, or length, open the F3D file in Fusion 360 and use “Change Parameters” to adjust as needed.Blade Width - add 0.1-0.3mm to the measured diameter of your razor blade or x-acto knife. Mine measures 0.5mm and I used 0.8mm with nylon because it shrinks a bit.Tubing Diameter - add 0.1-0.3mm to the measured diameter of your tubing. My hydraulic brake lines are 5mm, and I used 5.5mm, but it's a touch loose. Blade Length - 16mm works well for a regular x-acto knife, but if you've got some other kind of box cutter you can adjust as needed. Longer is more stable.**Warning: use the guide on a stable, flat surface. Don't hold the guide. Seriously, please don't hold the guide you will bleed out in your garage.***Should print easily in most materials and at most infills—depending on the durability you need. I recommend 4 walls with 20% gyroid for most things. The print in the picture also had fuzzy skin on PA-CF, just to try it out.
