Parametric Binocular/Telescope Tripod Mount

No way to tripod mount your particular binoculars or telescope? Perhaps you have another cylindrical object that would like to be tripod mounted? Update: For heavier binoculars, try http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1718859 Simply measure the diameter of the cylindrical part of your object and plug it into the "barrel_diameter" variable, print, add a 1/4 inch 20 thread nut, and you're ready to go. May not be ideal for heavier binoculars or telescopes but perfect for smaller field glasses and scopes. Print in default rotation for best shear strength. Print Settings Printer Brand: Solidoodle Printer: Solidoodle 4 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .3mm Infill: solid Notes: You may need supports for the hole where the nut will be placed, or you might not. It's a good idea to generate supports just in case the hole keeps its shape and the nut fits properly. I tried printing with no supports and it actually worked fine. The hexagonal space for the nut was tight so I heated my nut on the stove and pushed it into the hole where it fit nice and tight.
