Parametric Balloon Nozzle
thingiverse
Simple, quick and easy to print, this nozzle is parametric - you can change its sizes to suit your needs. When inflated with air in a balloon, it releases at a controlled rate when let go, allowing you to adjust for maximum flight time, altitude or just pure fun. The .scad design includes fins, but I printed a few and found they weren't practical at all when filling the balloon with air - no improved flight characteristics were noticed. However, a heavier nozzle, achieved through more infill, seems to increase stability, keeping the balloon upright for controlled flight. For 12" latex balloons, about 3.5mm openings are ideal for long flight times; smaller and the weaker balloons struggle to generate enough thrust to fly.
