Parametric Anet A8 & AM8 Bowden MODULAR X-Carriage
thingiverse
Probably not the cleanest openSCAD files you can find here, but they get the job done ! Some changes and improvements compared to the originals are : - Clone or legit "throat" mounts adapt to your setup :) - The belt holder holes are now aligned. - The extruder mount holes are also aligned. - You can choose whether you want a round base / and round extruder mount (or regular square ones). - You can select which type of screws to use for mounting the extruder (M3 or M4 sizes). - A minor cut on the front part prints without support, making more space for custom fan ducts. - There's also an option for a fan cut to get some extra space on the left side of the carriage. - The top zipties slots are offset (up/down). - The "probe mounts" holes are fully customizable (leave only one hole, move it, or replace it with zipties slots). - Hex shims keep the nuts in place. Still entirely compatible with the original mod and mods unless you remove all mount holes. Regarding Marlin extruder offsets, nothing had to be modified from the default/stock Anet A8 config files except : #define X_MIN_POS -13 #define Y_MIN_POS 0 (YMMV, but this tells your printer where the nozzle is without modifying "buildplate length" or any weird fancy options) Thanks go to the original author and the "clone compatible" remix author who used their designs before having to re-print/remake this to fit needs. Thanks also to anyone looking at the SCAD code for corrections, it's a pretty (working) mess.
