Parametric 90 degree pipe connector

Parametric 90 degree pipe connector

thingiverse

A versatile parametric connector designed specifically to link two pipes at a precise 90-degree angle. It functions flawlessly as a press-fit, yet incorporates strategically placed holes for secure attachment to the mount. This adaptable design allows for seamless printing without supports in vertical orientation. To achieve optimal results, it is highly recommended to adjust the print speed near the top layer due to potential noise issues that can arise when Z exceeds XY, particularly with the chamfer at the bottom. For added stability, I always print pairs of these connectors, allowing sufficient cooling time between layers. Key Parameters: **Pipe Diameter** The diameter of the two holes for pipe insertion should be slightly larger than the actual pipe size to ensure a snug fit. When printing with a 0.6mm nozzle, I use 22.3 for 22 mm pipes as a reliable setting. **Pipe Offset** This parameter represents the distance between the centers of the two pipes, not including their diameters. **Wall Thickness** The minimum wall thickness determines the overall size of the mount. The total length will be Pipe Offset plus Pipe Diameter plus three times the Wall Thickness, ensuring sufficient bridging for vertical printing. **Wall Chamfer** This feature adds a touch of elegance to the design by creating a smooth edge. **Gap Size** Increasing the gap size provides more flexibility when press-fitting the pipes together. **Fixing Bore** The small hole is designed for drilling and securely attaching the pipe to the mount using a bolt.
