Parallel striations
sketchfab
This is the foundation of a vessel crafted by experimental archaeologist Caroline Jeffra, modeled after a shape from the Aegean Bronze Age. It bears marks of parallel striations, resulting from a wire used to remove the vessel from the potter's wheel. The original pot was created with the wheel-coiling method as described by Roux-Courty (1998), demonstrated below. View our blog post about wheel coiling here Technical specifications The 3D model was generated using the David SLS-3 scanner. The original file size is 664 MB, boasting a resolution of 0.0996 mm (vertex spacing) and comprising 2931370 vertices. The part with the relevant mark(s) was then extracted with 3D modeling software Maxon Cinema4D, enlarged three times, and exported to .STL.
