The KMZ turret finder requires precise calibration for optimal use on cameras with approximately 75mm between the lens of the finder and the center of the taking lens. When attached to FED or FED-2 (or similarly, screw mount LEICA) cameras, this distance narrows to around 60mm, necessitating an adjustment to compensate for parallax errors resulting from this configuration. To rectify this issue, the adapter elevates the turret finder by 15mm above the taking lens, ensuring a seamless alignment between the view of the lens and the finder. Not all cold-shoe adapters are created equal, so the design of this adapter is intentionally slightly wider to accommodate for any discrepancies. A file may be necessary to fine-tune its fit to ensure proper attachment and functionality.
