Paracord Slider Jig

Paracord Slider Jig

I crafted this for my mom, who specifically requested a paracord slider. I had an extra piece of oak left over that I repurposed into this very project after she asked. You will need to print the end cap and the slider mount. The design fits a 1x2 piece of wood perfectly, so feel free to use pine or any other type of wood you prefer. I chiseled out a groove in the wood and used bolts along with heat-set inserts to secure the mounts. I purchased 1/4 heat-set brass inserts from Amazon for this purpose. To create a locking slider, simply attach a wing nut. Then, braid to your heart's content! You will also need to chisel out a small area for the end mount. I discovered that chiseling and gluing the end mount made it quite secure. Alternatively, you could drill a hole and screw it in place if you prefer. The slider rests on top of the wood. If the fit is tight, simply sand down the wood to make it slide smoothly.
