Paracord Pulley

Paracord Pulley

thingiverse

This is a pulley I designed for the Tuco Flyer project, a robot made from several winches operating on nylon paracord. I couldn't find a suitable pulley for light-duty loads that runs smoothly on this rope diameter, so I created one myself. The pulley itself operates on two 606 skate bearings over an M6x40 bolt, while the housing is held together by two M3x35 bolts and nuts. The pulley housing accepts two loops of paracord that each pass through both halves of the housing, also holding it together and acting as a failsafe. This ensures that even if the 3D print fails, the paracord looped through the pulley is retained by the paracord holding the pulley mount together. I printed the pulley without support, but the overhang was quite severe. To get good results, I had to run my printer a bit slower than usual.
