Parabolic Radar Assembly

Parabolic Radar Assembly

This is an assembly specifically designed for use in the Challenger Learning Center Sim. It attaches to the top of a small probe module. During a mission, the Probe (or SAT) Team would discover the top part severely damaged by meteor strike, requiring immediate replacement with a new one at the direction of Mission Control. The top part takes approximately 20 minutes to print. The other parts only need to be replaced when they break or are lost. I plan to print multiple top pieces and intentionally damage them using hot needles to simulate meteor strikes, then install them before the mission so the crew finds them pre-damaged. Note: The ring that fits over the front has a thicker rim on one side. It should be put on first with the big-side facing forward. To mount the parabolic antenna to a specific existing object, I created a T-rail using Sketchup and merged them together using MeshMixer.
