Parabolic antenna/battery case for Wemos D1 mini + DS18B20 using an Anker Astro E 10000mah power bank - a convenient and readily available option. This setup allows the outdoor lake temperature sensor to send data to emoncms.org every 30 minutes, while conserving energy by entering deep sleep mode in between readings. The addition of this case has significantly improved my Wi-Fi connection, which was previously weak due to its distance from the sensor (~100m). Not a single package has been lost since incorporating this solution. The parabolic shape is reinforced with aluminum tape for added stability. To prevent moisture intrusion at outdoor locations, silicone glue is used in conjunction with assembly. At present, four weeks have passed without any issues arising. However, it remains to be seen how long the setup will continue to function before requiring a recharge.
