Papyrus vase
thingiverse
I created a custom vase system for a Papyrus cutting using an IKEA Carafe as a base. To print the PLA, I used my 3D printer. My goal was to preserve some of the roots' length in clear water for visual purposes. So, I designed a hollow cylinder shape that would provide the necessary soil to the plant while preventing it from contaminating the water with mud. This innovative design allows the plant to receive all the watering it needs, replicating the fertile conditions found in Egypt. EDIT: The papyrus thrived so well in this system that I had to transplant it into a larger pot just days after! Now, I'm eager to see if another type of plant can grow at an equally impressive rate.
