Paper roll holder
thingiverse
My girlfriend wanted something to hold paper rolls in the kitchen, and since I have a printer she asked me to make it. So I did! Because I wanted the construction to be sturdy, I thought about filling it with something. But that meant making it hollow, and I needed a way to keep the roll from falling out. Another thing was that I didn't want any supports for the design because of how I planned to print it. Here are the measurements: check out "Paper roll holder blueprint.pdf" for them. To build this, you'll need: * Top knob.stl * Threaded joint.stl * Lid with threaded shaft.stl * Bottom.stl You'll also need some hardware: * 9 x M2.5x10 mm countersunk Phillips self-tapping screws (get these) * 1 x M4x30 screw (this one's a bit longer, from 25 to 35 mm is fine) * Some sand or heavy material (you can use this) Now, let's assemble it! First, screw the Lid with threaded shaft part to the Bottom part and fill it up with sand. Don't overdo it, just a small amount will do. Then, use some glue or press the shaft with a paper tissue to keep the sand from spilling out if it tips over. Next, screw the Threaded Joint to the Top Knob with the M4 screw and tighten it fairly hard. It's a good idea to put a dab of CA glue between the two parts so they don't come loose when you unscrew and change the roll. That's it! If you end up making something similar, let me know.
