Paper Rocket Fin Guide
youmagine
This guide shows you how to add tail fins to paper and tape rockets used on 1/2" NPT launch tubes. Download our free template at https://www.airrocketworks.com/wp/standard-template/. The NASA templates can be found at https://www.airrocketworks.com/wp/nasa-kennedy-space-center-templates/. To use this fin guide, you have two options: apply the fins straight or angle them 5 degrees to make your rocket spin. First, build the rocket body tube and insert a PVC mandrel into the center of the guide. Lower the body tube until it reaches a comfortable working height. Next, fold each fin and attach tape to one side. Tuck the untaped flap between the body and the guide, then smooth down the other flap's tape once aligned. After securing all three fins with tape, remove the mandrel and rocket and add more tape to the other side of the fin for a secure hold. Note that the rocket shown in this picture has been launched multiple times, resulting in its somewhat crumpled nosecone - I really need to take better photos!
