Panzerbeobachtungswagen Panther (Artillery Observer)

The Panzerbeobachtungswagen Panther is an Artillery observer built upon the Panther's chassis. It was usually based upon the Panther D chassis though occasionally it might have been built upon a Panther A chassis or improved into one. While the chassis remained unmodified, the turret was heavily modified, it removed the mantlet and shoved a ball kügelblende 80 ball mounted MG, in addition the main gun was removed and fitted with a dummy gun made of sheet steel. While there was no gun, the turret still removed fully traversable in 360 degrees. Much of the internal space with the ammunition and gun removed was refitted with extra radio equipment and range finding equipment to communicate and help coordinate artillery strike.
