The Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf. J and K are command vehicles which traded much of their internal space and ammunition for advanced radios. With the previous Ausf. D1, E1, and H variants, the troops were unpleased that the tank had no cannon for any sort of self defense. In response to this, the Ausf. J and K armed with a 5cm gun were designed and built, staying in service till the end of the war because of their usefulness.
