Pantorouter Mortise and Tenon Template (Parametric)
thingiverse
Parametric Mortise and Tenon Templates for the Pantorouter. Variables include Mortise/Tennon length and thickness, router bit diameter, follower bearing diameter, and follower shaft diameter. This is intended to be used in an aluminum extrusion holder, which is why the back has the material there. This can be deleted easily by changing the TemplateHolderThickness parameter. The template is tapered to allow fine tuning of the tenon to fit the mortise. Place the bearing all the way back for the largest tenon and move it forward to sneak up on a perfect fit. There are limitations when you try to make the template too small. I did not spend enough time on it to figure that part out. I just adjust the follower bearing or router bit diameter when the drawing gets broken due to making it too small. A good lower limit is to make the Mortise length 1.5" or greater, Mortise thickness (router bit diameter) 0.375" or greater, and the Follower bearing 0.375" or greater. Update 17 Jan 2020: Added parameter to allow use of bearing inside mortise cutout of template. Although the follower shaft can be ground down to fit, depending on print quality the result can be bumpy mortises. This should cut down on that issue while also making better use of the internal attachment screws. Update 19 Jan 2020: Added a taper to the mortise cutout part of the template (where the follower shaft or bearing rides to make the mortise). This will allow for the slight variances between the different bearings or shafts used. The ability to have a tighter fit will help make a smooth mortise.
